Silicon-barium alloy is an iron alloy with high activity and strong reducibility. It is used as a deoxidizer and desulfurizer in steelmaking, and as an inoculant in casting. Adding in steelmaking can reduce the occurrence of smoke and flame, change the nature and distribution of non-metallic inclusions in steel, and improve the processing performance of metal chips. Used in casting production, it shows good resistance to decay and reduces the sensitivity of section. It is a long-acting and efficient inoculant in the production of cast iron. The use of silicon-barium alloy is better than pure aluminum, ferrosilicium, silicon-calcium and other single alloys, and the cost is lower.
